He rides the bike with all his might, keeping his breathe controlled. There is competitor on his left and right, yet he won’t give up. He’s chasing the wind, but he doesn’t dare slake off. Instead, he keeps going focusing on winning.
“Swiftly Chasing The Wind” is one of the sculptural works created by the artist Chang Yeh for the square in front of the Taichung City Government. The theme of the sculpture is cycling, and it was made in 2018 for the “East Asia Youth Sports Sculpture Plaza.” This piece, along with two others from the same series—”Sweeping Competition” (bowling) and “Gathering Momentum” (track and field)—stands proudly in the plaza.
